I have been using it with my son since he was 3 weeks old. At first, he would only look at the lights. Then, when he started noticing and recognizing things, he would play with the mirror and other toys (although, mirror is his all time favorite). He's 6 months old now, and he still loves the mat. He rolls over to the toys that interest him the most and loves to chew on the leaf or touch the giraffe's face.
