Where To Buy The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary

Its an great item for a new born baby.If you have not bought a crib or want your baby to share the bed this is a fantastic item. Its light and portable. You can move it around the house easily and lay it down where ever.

The only complaint i have is that the leg portion is fixed(yellow piece) and the length is only 24". My daughter outgrew this in 5 weeks. So consider this before you buy. Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

I put this sleeper on my bed, then I can take care of my little Albert at night easily. Albert used it since he went back home on 4 jun, he sleeps well on it.

he was 48cm when borned, but it seems there is not too much room for him in the coming 1 or 2 weeks. If the sleeper too small for my Albert or he grows quickly? now he is only 17days old.Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

There are some great things about this product and not so great things. First the product was great for traveling as it folded up into a nice size. The night light was the perfect amount of light as it was bright enough to see while nursing but not to bright as to wake up my husband. The down side to this product is the size. My child out grew it by around 5 weeks as he grew just too long so we didn't get a lot of use out of it. The other down size is that we have a queen bed. It was very tight having this in the bed. We barely had room to move around and slept on our side because basically all the room we have.Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

This is a great product and I would reccommend to parents who like us have a small baby! Our daughter was a month early and very small and the co-sleeper is perfect for letting her stay in bed with us but we feel safe that we won't harm her. The nightlight is great.
Our baby is a month old now and I think she may outgrow this fairly soon if she gets any taller! She was born 18.5inches but I don't think this will last past her 2nd month.Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

This was bought for us second hand by a well meaning friend. Unfortunately we can't cosleep due to a sleep disorder I live with that makes me unsafe. (Night Terrors) But we have gotten uses out of it. It's great when baby is fussy and we want him in the living room with us, we can just put him in the sleeper on the couch and we don't have to worry about him rolling off. We send it with him to grandma's house for the same purpose. Of course baby should still not be left unatended because when they decide to roll, some netting isn't going to stop them. But at least with this we can sit in our own chair in the same room instead of putting him in his crib.

Overall, it's a nice product, but I personally feel it's overpriced.Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

The product pictures do not show the LARGE plastic warning label that is sewn (can't rip off) on the blue flap. It smells very strong like vinyl plastic. Something that smells this BAD can't be good. the close and secure sleeper does what it is designed to do. it is nothing fancy but it does provide a nice sleeping are for baby. me and my wife bought it because our baby would not sleep unless we were with her. we did not want her in our bed so we placed her between us in our bed in the sleeper. after a couple nights of her sleeping like that we moved the sleeper in her bassinet and we havent heard a peep for a couple nights now! it was def worth the money, considering other sleepers that attach to the bed are 5x the price! i will say we own a queen size bed and sleeping was pretty tight, but it was well worth it in the end!Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

This item is not useful and I don't feel it is safe. I bought this item with the intention of having our new son sleep close to us. The item is not stable and turns to the side if you get close to it, waking the baby up and wrenching it to the side. Our bed is semi-soft mattress, maybe it wouldn't do that with a really firm one. Also, the tiny piece of mattress/foam that they have in there is ridiculous for a baby, its like having a baby sleep on cardboard. I bought this on clearance for only 12.99 and returned it 2 days later. Go with the bassinet or co-sleeper!!Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

We followed the directions included with this sleeper precisely and had a very close call with our newborn. The sides are low and a single pillow may very easily slide over the infant's head with tired parents on either side. We contacted Target and the company to bring this to their attention to no avail. An investigator from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission filed a report and took ours away.

If using this, please be careful! Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

I love this co-sleeper and our daughter loves it too. I have an Arm's Reach co-sleeper. Since my daughter started having reflux symptoms I purchased this item so that she would be a little closer to me while she was sleeping. Well, she started to sleep during the night, almost through the night when we started using this sleeper. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not however when she would partially wake up after putting her in the Arms Reach sleeper she would wake up, however, in this co-sleeper she will usually go back to sleep. I think that she feels better too since she is a little closer to me. This unit is very cute and looks very comfy for babies. While most co-sleepers and basinetts have harder mattresses this one is nice and soft. On the downside, this sleeper is waaaay to small. My daughter was 21.5 inches at birth and is not able to stretch out in sleeper. My daughter is very long and has grown alot since birth, I am down to my last few days in this co-sleeper. Have to say that it was worth it for the time that it was utilized.

On the down side, the bumper at the end is a pain since, if it weren't there it would give the baby more room. Also one of the reviews made mention of a close-call with a pillow going over the co-sleeper. Not sure if two pillows were used....in the directons it tells you not to sleep with two pillows since if you are high up then it's a possibility for the end of the pillow to go over top of the co-sleeper. I used to sleep with two pillows however now I sleep with my pillow folded in half the long way and it works for me. I did that more for space since we have a queen bed and there needs to be room for the sleeper. All in all great product, highy recommend. Also a great purchase for breastfeeding moms!!Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

This is very lovely and quite big for our newborn baby (6.5 pounds, 19inches)- there is plenty of room for him in it, and plenty of room to grow. My husband and I use this in our queen size bed in the center. There are a few areas for improvement: we need more sheets with the special velcro! Once he soiled it in the middle of the night and there are no replecements! Does anyone know how to get them? The nightlight is nice, but you take it out to really use it. Note, this has to be used with parents having their own blankets on either side, as you would with any cosleeper. I would have liked more of an angle for baby to sleep at and more features of a sleep positioner. But I do feel it keeps my baby close and safe, like it is supposed to.Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary Right now

Before my daughter was ever born, I knew I wanted her to sleep with me at least for a little while. It just felt unnatural to leave her in another room and go to bed. Plus, when she woke up she was right there for me to grab. However, I did worry at first about smothering her or having my blankets cover her or the mattress being too soft, etc. So, I bought this sleeper (I got it on ebay for $15). It was awesome! I loved that she was right next to me but still safe in her own little bed. I also liked that the sides were mesh so I didn't have to worry about her rolling into them and suffocating (I know, paranoid mother...). The night light was really nice because it's so soft and subtle, I could see her but it wasn't unfriendly at 2am. Also, I loved that it's so portable. If we were going to be at a friends house or something for a while, I would take it with us and she always had a familiar and safe place to nap. It is a bit pricey. I would recommend looking around for used ones. Since they are only used for a little while, most aren't very well worn and you can save a lot of money.

I had a cheaper co-sleeper that would shift when my husband or I moved or if only 1 of us was in bed and the baby would roll to the side. This one has a nice flap that goes under the adult bed's mattress and helps keep it from doing that. I used the 1st years positioner in it for the first 2 months. I do wish it were longer as my son is 12 weeks now and at 25 inches is longer then the mattress but he sleeps with his legs folded a bit so he still fits, I may cut the bottom foot rest as I read some people have done to get a little more life out of it. I plan to use it again if we have more kids.Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

This is a great product. When my son was born he slept in the bed next to me in this. I loved it because I felt better knowing he was right there next to me. I could check on him in the middle of the night (10xs a night if I wanted to) without have to get up out of bed. I didn't worry about rolling over him either because of the hard top and sides on this sleeper. My only complaint would be that my son out grow this fairly quickly. It was just too short; I wished that they designed this to fit longer babies, and for that I took off 1 star. Other than that I would recommend this product.Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

This was good until she outgrew it, which happened quickly. Like other reviewers said, it's only 24" long so if you have a tall baby, s/he will outgrow it quickly. The support at the bottom is not removable so it won't grow with your baby or accommodate very tall babies. My only other piece of advice is to use a sleep positioner if you have a squirmer. If you look at the 4th picture over, one submitted by a consumer, you'll see the baby slipping out the side. This happens to our daughter, too, which is unsafe. My baby was 2lbs 8 oz when born and when she came home from the NICU she was a little more than 3lbs 1 oz. Naturally my husband and I were concerned about leaving her in a crib. This sleeper made it easy to have her adjust from being moved from the cot she was in at the hospital to our bed for the first few days at home, and then to the crib. We still use it in the crib, but now that she has started to wriggle around (not roll) we have to move her to the crib because her little feet end up hanging out of the sleeper.

Also, a second mattress cover would have been great, as the inevitable spit-ups or diaper leaks pose a constant challenge when you need to wash the case. Otherwise, this is a great buy or gift optionGet more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

Perfect item for us. It is utilized every single day. We have ours on the couch and she naps in this every day. She hates her bassinet so, without this, we would not know what to do. We even pack it up and take it to friends and families houses when we visit. She sleeps in it there just as well as at home. I cannot say enough about this item... it is probably the best thing we have for her besides her swing.

We thought this would be great to have the little one sleeping in between us with no worries about blankets getting on his face or us sleeping too close to him. The few times he would sleep in it, it was nice because we felt like we could sleep more soundly. However, he hated sleeping in it. I know that infants are supposed to sleep on very firm surfaces to prevent any risk of suffocation, and I was SO into following every single safety protocol. But after three nights of almost NO sleep whatsoever we had to give up and let him sleep on the bed. It isn't much softer, but a enough so that he will actually sleep. Also, if you are nursing, you have to sit up, lift your baby out of this, and then when nursing is done, lift him/her back into it which (in our case) woke him up and he required rocking and/or more nursing to go back to sleep (that is, if he would go back to sleep...which often he wouldn't). In short, I think this is a great product if your child will sleep in it. Ours baby, unfortunately, would have nothing to do with it.Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

We used this with our first child and we LOVED it. I wasn't quite ready for her to be in another room when we brought her home, and I didn't like stumbling across the room to feed her in the middle of the night. We put this in bed with us (King size) and it worked out great. She was in bed with us without being IN bed with us. When she was a little older (about 2 1/2 months) we transitioned her to her crib easily by just laying the sleeper in the crib. I was sooo excited to receive and set up this sleeper.. It was perfect-well made, easy to set up, just what I was looking for. I purchased it when our baby was 3 weeks old (he was 22") and after the first week of using it I realized that he was already out growing it! The inner dimensions of the bed portion are literally only about 25". I sadly had to return the product and purchase one that isn't fully inclosed-which is what I love about the Close & Secure Sleeper... ; ( I highly recommend this product if your baby is small and it may be worth the price if I had used it from day one but I personally do not have that kind of money to waste. Like other customers, I found this product to be very useful. My son has been sleeping in it since the day he arrived home from the hospital. He felt really comfortable sleeping in it, which made it so nice when we travelled because he felt right at home sleeping in this co-sleeper. This product is also just the right size for our king-size bed (it will feel really cramped in a queen-size bed). It is definitely a must for breastfeeding moms, because it feels really nice to have the baby in bed without worrying about rolling over him. I give it a four because I am dissappointed that the foot stopper is not removable. After only 8 weeks, my son has outgrown the bed. I ended up doing a little TLC and took the inner plastic frame from the foot stopper so that he can continue sleeping in it, but I truly wish that the manufacturer makes a removable foot stopper for bigger/longer babies.Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

This is a brilliant idea and perfect for co-sleeping. However, if you have a bigger than average size baby, it's a no-go. My son was 9lbs and 23 inches long when he was born. So it was a little cramped in there for him. He got maybe 2 weeks out of it. If you could remove the wedge at the bottom, it would AWESOME. But other than that, perfect for Breast feeding moms. The concept of this product is great, but it did not work for us. We have queen bed and with this between us, my husband and I were very uncomfortable.

I love this cosleeper- it is simple and it works. My baby sleeps in it at least a few hours every night without fussing, because he can smell and hear me right on the other side of it... as an anthropologist, I know that cosleeping with an infant has many benefits, not the least of which is that it reduces the risk of SIDS. Still, we are told over an over again in our own society that there is a serious risk of rolling over the baby (although this is actually very rare, unless someone is intoxicated!) This product allows me the peace of mind to know baby is safe, allows him the peace of mind of knowing I am close, and makes it impossible for me or my husband to squash him in our current sleep-deprived state.
Some people have said babies legs end up protruding out of the cosleeper - and this has happened with my baby. That is why the bottom half is soft instead of hard plastic! His face cannot get squished into the mattress or sheets, so he can always breath, and he doesn't end up with dents in his legs when he flings his feet out towards me. The top half of his body has never gotten out of the sleeper, and even when he squishes his face up against the side he can breath because there is a net that covers an open air-space in the frame, which prevents suffocation.
Bottom line - I love this thing. It is allowing me to get some sleep!Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

I received this as a present from my baby shower. So far it has been great for my newborn that likes to have me near and is able to sleep in bed with me without me losing sleep over fear of rolling over on him in the middle of the night. It is also great for traveling when visiting relatives for quick trips or over night sleep over's at grandmas. It gives baby a constant security even in a different sleeping environment. It has a convenient battery operated night light at the head of this product that makes it easy to check on baby in the middle night with out waking him with the bright lights of turning a lamp on.

The only downside is that the waterproof padding (that comes with it) is not so comfortable and is on the stiff side even if it's covered by a washable cotton cover (also provided with the product). Luckily my Mom improvised by cutting out some memory foam from an old bed liner she had in the shape of the liner that comes standard with this sleeper. The new cushion she created fit perfect in this and has completely improved the comfort of this sleeper for my baby. The foam also prevents flat head syndrome and now it's the perfect product for me and my baby. Another con is its size and most babies will definitely outgrow this after 6 months.

So far it has been worth it for me as it gives my baby a safe and secure place to sleep peacefully no matter where we are for the night. (again, just wish the manufacturer would improve the cushion that comes with it.)Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

We bought this because we have a king-size bed, but really no room in our room for a bassinet. It worked okay, and we did use it for about 7 weeks after my daughter's birth, but I think I'm getting rid of it. We ended up having to place rolled up receiving blankets on both sides to keep her from slipping down and out of the mesh sides. Neither one of us is large, and we're about the same size, so she would work her way down and out of either side very regularly before we started using the improvised bolsters. It also seems pretty short for its intended use. My daughter is in the 25th percentile on weight and height, but she was as long as the sleeping area after only 3 or 4 weeks. In fact, when we brought her home from the hospital at only 5.75 lbs, we were both surprised at how well she fit in it. I'm not sure my son, who was 7 lbs 3 oz at birth, would have ever fit in it.
On the plus side, it was easy to take with us when we traveled, and we didn't have to worry about whether there was room in our room for a pack-and-play or something like that. And it wasn't very expensive.
However, I never really felt comfortable with her in it, and I don't think she was very comfortable either. In hindsight, I wish we'd have gone on and made room in our room for an Arm's Reach co-sleeper or traditional bassinet. I think we'd have all slept better and been happier in those first weeks.Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

Hubby and I bought this last minute when a hand-me-down bassinet ended up not working out for us. I had a lot of mixed feelings about baby sleeping in bed with us but the sturdy sides of this sleeper elimnated any concerns the very first night we put our little girl down to bed in it. I know it only goes to 24 inches but that really seems like it will be enough as we do plan to transfer our little one to her crib once she is sleeping solidly through the night or once she gets too big for this sleeper... If you like the idea of co-sleeping but worry about rolling over on baby or smothering them then this is a great product- it's like baby has her own bed within your bed- and the best part of all: it makes nursing at night a snap!Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

This is just a caution about sleep positioners that claim to reduce the risk of SIDS. Pillows, wedges, and positioning devices are not recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics or Consumer Reports. They have not been adequately tested to support their claim of reducing the risk of SIDS and may even increase the risk of suffocation. (the device itself can become a barrier to the baby's breathing) Babies are safest when placed on their backs in a crib with no soft bedding, pillows, or toys around. Usually when babies are old enough to roll over on their own, they are past the most critical period for SIDS (2-4 months). It is not my intent to scare anyone, just to dispel misinformation. Two stars for two reasons: this is a pain in the butt to clean up. You can take all the fabric parts apart and wash them (that velcro sticks to everything..) but it is a hassle to put it all back together. We ended up putting a waterproof lap pad over the mattress and a flannel swaddling blanket over that. This also took a lot of room in a queen size bed and made sleeping really awkward. None of us slept comfortably (baby included) so we ended up stop using this after a few weeks and putting this in a crib in our bedroom where he slept soundly and removing the sleeper after another week or so. Luckily this had a good resale value so we got rid of it, absolutely not getting it for baby #2. Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

This will only work until your baby spits up or has a leaky diaper.
The only part of this that can be washed is the mattress and mattress cover. The manufacturer claims that the cover is removable for washing, but only the top part is able to separate from the cover. The footrest does not separate from the cover at all. When I called, I was told the instructions that came with it were wrong, and they only recommend spot cleaning, which is not adequate for a spit up. They also told me to return it, but I cannot do that as it now smells like stale spit-up and cannot be cleaned.

I loved this little sleeper. We'd been using the bassinet in the bedroom and it just wasn't working for us. With both our sons (6 years apart) there was one point or another that I wanted to chuck the bassinet out the window. they just hated it. AMA (against mom's advice) I bought this little sleeper for the middle of our king-sized bed. It was absolutely perfect. It actually helped to form good habits in my son because after feeding him, I'd lay him right back down (in the middle of the night). So, when we finally did move him to his crib at 4 months, he was used to falling back to sleep on his own. With him so close, we'd rub his belly if he cried rather than picking him up. It was better for all of us. I never used the light, we slept with an indirect bathroom light on so we could see him. I'm not sure if it would've worked for us in a smaller bed but in a king size it was absolutely perfect.Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

I got this so I could nap with my newborn in the bed - there are a lot of tabs and folds that I am not sure how to use, but my biggest complaint is the toxic smell it emits - like plastic. This can't be good for me or baby. I hope it airs out soon, before baby outgrows this sleeper. Otherwise, it's a sturdy design for the price and works well if you want to sleep next to your little one without fear.Get more detail about The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper, Colors May Vary.

These bottles are very nice to have around in emergency cases where you are unable to get or clean one of your babies bottles. Because they are sterilized they are ideal for babies that may have health issues or are at higher risk of becoming ill. Keeping them in the diaper bag is a great idea.

They work quite well, they seal well and because they are fast flow my son is happy using this bottle just as he is with his own.

My biggest issue with these is the fact that for some they may promote waste. As I said before they are great in emergency but we still stick to using my sons normal bottles while we do have to wash them we are not creating additional waste.

These are recyclable which is great but does the purchaser use recycling or have it available near them. I know that in our area most people don't have it readily available but the city has started a recycling pilot in some neighborhoods.

So here is the rundown-

Pros:
- Sturdily made
- Great for emergency use
- Great for keeping baby safe
- Reasonably priced between $1-$1.20 (10 count vs. 5 count, 10 being the better deal)
- BPA-free and Phthalate free

Cons:
- None really. Just be environmentally conscious by using sparingly and insuring to recycle.

Good product. I'll continue to use this product and would gladly recommend them to family and friends.
