I'll start with the pros:
-It is BPA free (*very, VERY important - please make sure all your childrens toys, plates, cups, & especially bottles are BPA free, especially for little boys)
-It is packaged (somewhat) sterile
-The top-seals tight and prevents leaks
-And, it's convenient for on the road or on vacation, when you have no access to sterile nipple/bottles.
However, I still give it a 1-star (will never again order this product) for the following reasons:
-First and foremost, anything single use is NOT eco-friendly. And they make this INTENTIONALLY single use. That is, the bottle will break if you try to pry the nipple off. That is downright stupid and wasteful. There is not a single reputable environmental group who would endorse a use-and-toss product that could easily be washed and used again.
-It is not just single use ... you must use it IN ONE SITTING. The bottle itself is leak-proof, but the nipple holes are so large, it will spill everywhere if you try to put it in your bag. There is a nipple cover you can snap on, but it will fill with milk and make a mess. So, if you must use & toss the bottle, you'll run through 10 bottles really fast (at $1 each).
-The bottles are 9 ounces, which is way too big. For the same materials, they could have given us twenty 4 or 4.5 ounce bottles. If you fill it up and your child can't finish, you will potentially waste the milk. Bad design.
-You must use a microwave on low heat to warm, or the bottle will melt.
-You have to pour the milk into bottle - so it's really designed to work with formula, not with a pump.
-The plastic (#5) is recyclable on our curbside, but is not in many other areas of the country.
-Neither the bottles nor the nipples are individually sealed. I believe they are sterile and safe, but certainly not by industry standards. I'm surprised they're allowed to put this on the box.
Bottom line: expensive, bad design, and probably less eco-friendly than your average over-the-counter bottle. I'm really disappointed.Get more detail about Steribottle Ready to Use Disposable Baby Bottles, 10 Count.
