We should have bought this way before we did! Our son was about 4 months when we got it, but really we could've used it a lot sooner. It allowed me to USE THE BATHROOM during the day without him crying... the lights and music stimulated him great. It wasn't hard to assemble BUT we lost the instructions and now that our son is 8 mts old and isn't a lay-on-his-back-only baby, we can't figure out how to DISassmble it... so it's a bit bulky.
