My 8-month-old been loving this jungle gym since he was 6 weeks old. He reached so many milestones on this mat: He started out watching the lights, then batting at the toys, then grabbing them and pulling them to his mouth, then rolling over to play with the zebra tail, crawling over to the crinkly leaf and now uses the bars to pull himself to standing (though it is not designed for this - I hang onto him so his weight's not on it). We've replaced the batteries only twice.
