My child is almost one year of age so he no longer plays with the gym. Although, he still drags/plays with the stuffed animals from the gym (monkey and bird). They are great for the teething baby. The mat was plenty thick and was easy to wash/clean. My child spit up pretty bad so we had to wash it numerous times. Even with all the washing the mat is still in mint condition. The lights are great and kept my childs attention. The gym isn't the most pratical for storage...but that would be my only complaint.
